Community, connection, and resources for trans people in Minnesota
Tea Time is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 42-2092888. We create welcoming community spaces, social and cultural events, educational programming, and resource navigation for trans people throughout Minnesota.
Our work has a particular focus on transgender women and transfeminine people, while many of our larger programs and community events are open to trans people of all genders.
Tea Time helps trans people build friendships, participate in community life, learn practical skills, and connect with useful resources and opportunities.
Our programming includes:
Community gatherings: Welcoming, low-pressure opportunities to meet people and build supportive relationships.
Trans Prom: An annual celebration centered on community, self-expression, and trans joy.
Pride outreach: Free food, activities, community information, and invitations to future programming.
Karaoke, games, and outings: Relaxed social activities designed for both new and longtime community members.
Educational programming: Workshops, demonstrations, discussions, and skill-sharing based on community interests and needs.
Resource navigation: Help identifying organizations and programs related to employment, housing, healthcare, legal needs, transportation, basic needs, and social support.
Tea Time’s 2026 programming has included Trans Prom at Queermunity, outreach at Minneapolis People’s Pride, community gatherings, karaoke and game nights, educational activities, and community outings.

At People’s Pride, Tea Time distributed approximately 250 free sandwiches while welcoming attendees, sharing community information, and connecting people with future programming.
A 2026 Tea Time community survey received 66 responses and identified employment, housing, access to resources, and social connection as important priorities. Community feedback continues to shape the programs, partnerships, and long-term resources we are developing.
Tea Time’s work has a particular focus on transgender women and transfeminine people.
Many of our larger events, educational activities, outings, and community celebrations are also open to trans people of all genders, partners, friends, and allies. Participation information for individual programs is provided with each event.
You do not need an established friend group, nonprofit experience, or previous involvement with Tea Time to participate.
Whether you are looking for an upcoming event, an affirming community space, help finding a resource, or a way to become involved, Tea Time can help you find a place to start.
Our Minnesota resource guide includes information about community organizations, housing and basic-needs support, healthcare, mental health, employment, legal rights, youth services, transportation, and LGBTQ+ community spaces.
Tea Time is powered by community members, volunteers, organizers, partners, sponsors, and supporters.
You can support our work by attending an event, volunteering, helping organize programming, sharing a skill, providing meeting space or supplies, sponsoring an activity, making a donation, or connecting Tea Time with resources that could benefit trans people in Minnesota.
Donations support community events, educational activities, outreach, resource navigation, program supplies, operating expenses, and the development of future programs and community spaces.
