Tea Time is a Minnesota nonprofit building community, connection, and opportunity for trans people.
Our work has a particular focus on transgender women and transfeminine people, while many of our larger programs, events, and community initiatives are open to trans people of all genders.
Tea Time creates welcoming community spaces, social and cultural events, educational programming, and resource navigation. We work to reduce isolation and help connect trans people with resources related to employment, housing, healthcare, legal and administrative needs, and other areas of everyday life.
We believe trans people should have a meaningful role in creating the programs and spaces intended for our communities. Our work is community-driven, peer-led, and shaped by the needs people tell us they are experiencing.
We also work with nonprofits, government agencies, community organizations, businesses, and other partners to expand the resources and opportunities available to trans people in Minnesota.
Tea Time grew out of the Tea Time community program previously housed at the Aliveness Project. In 2026, Tea Time became an independent Minnesota nonprofit and received recognition as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Today, Tea Time is building on that community history while developing new programs, partnerships, and long-term resources for Minnesota’s trans community.
