Tea Time operates the Transgender Resource Center at Sabathani Community Center in South Minneapolis.
The center is a welcoming, peer-led space where transgender and gender-diverse people can spend time together, build friendships, connect with resources, participate in programs and activities, and simply have somewhere to be in community.
You do not need to already know anyone at Tea Time or attend a specific program to visit.

Relax, socialize, play games, and participate in community activities
Use computers, Wi-Fi, charging equipment, and other shared technology
Find information about transgender resources throughout Minnesota
Get help finding organizations related to housing, employment, healthcare, transportation, legal needs, food, and other everyday needs

Volunteer, share skills, or help develop new community programming
Sometimes you may come to the center for a resource or program. Sometimes you may just want somewhere welcoming to spend a few hours. Both are okay.
Tea Time helps community members identify organizations, programs, and services that may be useful for needs including housing, employment, healthcare, transportation, legal and administrative needs, identity documents, discrimination, social support, and community connection.
Tea Time provides peer support, information, and resource navigation. The Transgender Resource Center is not a medical clinic, emergency shelter, legal services provider, or crisis service.
The center gives Tea Time a permanent home for community activities throughout the year, including:
Community gatherings
Game nights
Educational workshops
Skill-sharing
Employment and resource workshops
Hair, fashion, and personal-expression activities
Advocacy education
Community meetings
Holiday and seasonal activities
Programs proposed and organized by community members
Larger Tea Time events may continue to take place at other locations throughout Minneapolis.
The Transgender Resource Center is built through volunteer work, community input, donations, partnerships, and support from people who want trans Minnesotans to have stronger community infrastructure.
We expect the space to continue growing and changing as we learn what people use, what people need, and what our community wants to build together.
The Transgender Resource Center is operated by Tea Time, a Minnesota 501c3 nonprofit organization.
Donations help support rent, insurance, technology, furniture, supplies, programming, resource materials, events, and the other costs of maintaining the center.
You can also support the center by volunteering, donating useful equipment or supplies, sharing a skill, or helping connect Tea Time with additional community resources.
